CVC Word Families

Thursday, April 2, 2020
Grab some alphabet magnets and a muffin tin and you’re ready for this super easy activity!

Pick a CVC (consonant vowel consonant) word family and put the last two letters on the bottom of a muffin tin. Examples: -at, -op, -in, -og). Take out letters that can be swapped out to make words. See my story highlights on instagram for a video (link below)!

Bonus Activity:

See if your child can come up with a CVC word family that you haven’t done.

WHY?

Word families give children a predictable pattern. Teaching word families also helps with spelling!
