Diversity

Thursday, June 4, 2020

I've made a commitment to grow our collection of diverse books and toys in our house. This morning we read one of the books that arrived this week. Whoever You Are by Mem Fox is a wonderful children's book about diversity and acceptance. It has beautiful illustrations of different people from around the world.

After reading the book, I brought out these cards that I found from @ibelieveinmontessori. These cards include pictures of children from all over the world. My kids looked at the cards and we talked about
differences we noticed and why it's important to embrace and celebrate diversity.

I am in no way an expert, but being silent is not an option.  Below is the direct link to download these free picture cards and the books that we've purchased to help promote diversity.
